MIIT, NDRC, NEA, and 3 other authorities jointly issued the guiding opinions on promoting the high-quality development of the petrochemical and chemical industry during the “14th Five-Year Plan”. The plan notably aims to:
- Significantly reduce the energy consumption and carbon emissions per unit of bulk products and reduce the total volatile organic compound emissions by more than 10% compared with the 13th FYP.
- Accelerate breakthroughs in key technologies such as new catalysis, green synthesis, and large-scale application of “green hydrogen”.
- Develop clean production and green manufacturing and expand biochemical industries. Roll out the certification of green processes, products, factories, supply chains and parks, and build a full life cycle green manufacturing system.
