State Grid to build 7 new UHV DC lines by 2025

In its plan for the 14th five-year plan period, State Grid announced that it would build 7 new ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) lines. The group plans to increase transmission capacity by 56 GW, bringing its cross-province and cross-regional power transmission capacity to 300 GW. State Grid also aims at increasing the proportion of clean energy transmission to 50%, while also improving the utilisation rate of its existing lines.
