Shandong’s government recently issued its “14th Five-Year Plan” for the development of the shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment industry. The plan states that Shandong will promote the development of offshore wind power equipment, including deep far sea floating wind turbines, and marine renewable energy equipment. Notably, it mentions the use of offshore wind power for hydrogen production. It also includes offshore carbon capture and storage, clean energy floating islands, floating nuclear power plant platforms, and other research and development applications.
