The National Energy Administration (NEA) has released data for the completion of the RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standard) for the year 2021. In 2021, the national renewable energy power generation reached 2,485 TWh, including 1,340 TWh of hydropower, 164TWh of biomass power, 656 TWh and 326 TWh of wind and solar power respectively. For 2021, the national minimum non-hydro RPS target was 12.9% while the value reached was 13.7%, exceeding the target by 0.8 percentage points. In addition, such a penetration of non-hydro renewable energy represents a year-on-year increase of 2.3 percentage points compared with 2020.
