Guangdong province aims to reach 18 GW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2025

On December 14, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province formally issued the “Fourteenth Five-Year Plan for Marine Economic Development in Guangdong Province”. The plan is a guiding framework for the development of the marine economy in the province, including the offshore wind sector. The plan aims for Guangdong to reach 18 GW of installed offshore wind capacity by the end of 2025. It also ambitions to develop two 10 GW industrial clusters and an R&D base dedicated to offshore wind, bringing the production capacity of the province to 900 wind turbines per year.
