The Gansu Energy Bureau issued an announcement on the “Interim Rules for the Operation of the Electric Power Ancillary Services Market in Gansu Province”. The document encourages the construction of grid-side energy storage by the various power market players (power generators, power users, ancillary services providers, etc.) via independent or shared energy storage.
Shared and independent energy storage projects can both participate in capacity, frequency regulation, and peak regulation markets under different conditions. Independent energy storage projects can earn up to CNY 300 / MW-day on the peak regulation market.
