Eight government departments issue a plan to promote consumption of green power

The National Development and Reform Commission and seven other departments jointly issued the “Implementation Plan for Promoting Green Consumption”, a guiding document to stimulate the consumption of green power via power and certificate transactions. It notably:

  • Encourages consumers to sign mid- and long-term green power contracts
  • Requires that temporal distribution of local green power production be shared with consumers to enable them to consume more green power.
  • Requires grid companies to give priority to consumers with high levels of green power consumption when demand side management is necessary.
