China’s first large-scale commercial floating offshore wind power project passes feasibility study

The China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute recently held a conference for the release of the Wanning floating offshore wind power feasibility report.

The 1GW pilot project is a key implementation project of the “14th Five-Year Plan” for offshore wind power in Hainan Province. The project is located in the eastern sea area of Wanning City, Hainan Province, and will be constructed in two phases. The first phase representing an installed capacity of 200MW, is planned to be completed and connected to the grid by the end of 2025; the remaining capacity would be completed by the end of 2027.
