A hydrogen-powered UAV belonging to State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company successfully completed the autonomous inspection of a 500 kV power line. This is the first time that a hydrogen fuel cell drone has been used to carry out inspection operations on State Grid’s power system. It is also the first time that hydrogen energy equipment has been applied in power grid inspections. According to the article, a hydrogen-powered drone can function for more than 2 hours on one tank, which is about 4 times that of a lithium battery drone.
