22 provinces plan to add more than 500 GW of wind and solar capacity by 2025

According to the latest statistics, out of a total of 32 provinces, 22 have already provided their installed capacity targets for 2025 in their respective 14th FYPs. In total, the provinces have pledged to add 528 GW of wind and solar capacity by 2025, or more than 100 GW per year. Several provinces plan to add 50 GW or more, such as Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Hebei, or Yunnan. For the record, China’s wind and solar installed capacity at the end of 2021 reached 635 GW.
