Azure International is an international sustainable energy consulting, research, and private equity investment firm based in Beijing since 2003. Working with leading Chinese and international clients in the private and public sector, Azure’s Energy Strategy Team provides strategic and technical advice to deliver improved energy/carbon efficiency and financial performance. Our corporate advisory services include: carbon and cleantech market analysis, energy auditing, implementation of industrial energy efficiency, corporate renewable energy and carbon management.  In the public sector we work with government organizations to develop low-carbon development strategies and policies at the local and national level.

Azure’s Energy Strategy team is now seeking a Summer Intern to help with communications media and advertising materials to effectively represent our consultancy services to existing and prospective clients.  This position is ideal for someone looking to direct their marketing/journalism/pr experience into China’s dynamic and growing renewable energy sector.

Job responsibilities:

• Write, edit and design marketing materials including: brochures, Powerpoint presentations, website content, etc.

• Write and edit: client reports, renewable energy briefs and case studies for publication in professional journals, newsletters, websites, and other promotional materials.

• Track news coverage of climate change/energy issues in traditional and new media (e.g., newspapers and blogs) and provide strategic consultation to support Azure’s clients in taking
  advantage of media advocacy opportunities.

• Develop strategic communication/marketing materials, including editing and/or developing news releases, media advisories, talking points, and other products, as needed.

• Help with other writing, training and marketing projects as needed.

Applicant requirements:

• A Bachelors degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or related field required.
• Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
• Experience working with public relations/marketing agencies, news organizations, print and/or broadcast preferred.

• Ability to clearly and efficiently edit materials including press releases, briefing materials, and opinion pieces.

• Native level of English with ability to speak/write Mandarin fluently strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with new online communications tools (blogs, e-flicks, etc.).

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word 2008 or higher, FileMaker Pro, Excel and PowerPoint, and desktop publishing programs such as Quar/ Adobe Indesign CS5.

• Ability to work well with international minimal supervision.

• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

What we offer:

• Azure will provide a modest monthly stipend to cover basic transportation and lunch costs.
